Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized the Russian player secured his initial title for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a former number one, has endured a difficult season, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.

The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-term mentor Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought three-set victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents the player's first championship since the Rome competition and first on a hard surface since that period of the previous year.

The win also means he has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one distinct tournaments.

"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, including in Halle previously this season.

His retrieving strategy and recurring reactions on the playing surface had led some to question if his ability to compete at the elite level was over.

However the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an better service.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the concluding five games to go ahead.

Both players swapped breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to force a third set.

The opponent saved four early opportunities in a competitive final set before the Russian broke to 15 to close out the victory.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the title with a point at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
